Unbelievable Recovery of Flame Shot Girl-Totally Wow
This is what the "flaming shot girl" posted in Imgur:
Some of you may remember me as the 'flaming shot girl'. A year ago today I got peer pressured (very bad excuse) into doing a flaming shot. As I went to blow the flame out I blew too hard and the shot splashed back on me and lit my face and chest on fire, at this moment I dropped the rest of the shot on my chest.
Over the past few months I have gotten quite a few messages from fellow imgurians asking how my recovery has been going. It's been exactly one year since my injuring and here are some progression photos of my recovery.
About 10 days after the incident. I was hospitalized for a week before I was allowed to go home. I didn't want to put up the picture of my face when it swelled up since its pretty gross.
5 months after the incident, still red and very sensitive to any heat/light exposer. Doctors say I have to stay out of the sun for 2 years and wear 60 SPF everyday to minimize skin discolouration. I got a picture with the accordion player from Good for Grapes though!
1 month ago. I tried to change the contrast a bit to show the scars better. They will most likely be raised for ever, but most people don't notice them.
Most recent picture of my face and chest, scars are visibly unnoticeable. I cannot stress enough how important it is for people to make decisions for them selves. I got pressured into doing something I didn't want to do and I learnt the hard way. I wouldn't want anyone to have to experience a physical or psychological trauma like this. I was very fortunate with how my skin healed up due to the circumstances.
